President: Charlene McKinley-Powell has been a member since moving to Riverside in 2013. She has served DGR as Communications Co-Chair, Secretary and Vice-President and actively participated in voter registration and election campaigns for local candidates for state and federal offices.
Vice-President: Brenda Bell has been a member of DGR for over three years and most recently served as DGR Secretary. In October, she was honored at the Democratic Party’s Bosworth Luncheon as the club’s Volunteer of the Year. She was the lead organizer for the Inland Empire People’s Climate March and is a former member of CDP Executive Board and 3rd Vice Chair for San Bernardino Central Committee. Currently she is a Trustee for Southern California for California Democratic Council. She direcctedWisconsin State’s Mail Program for Obama in 2012.
Secretary: Heidi Laird
Treasurer: Greg McKinley-Powell is currently DGR president and has also served as Secretary and Communications Chair.
Communication: Christine Roberts has been a member for just over a year and has served as Communications Chair since 2016. Phone banked for the Clinton campaign, participated in Women’s March in D.C., frequent “gadfly correspondent” to the DNC and members of Congress.
Elections: Sheila Kay Riley has long been active in a variety of Democratic and social justice groups and committees. She has served as Recording Secretary to the Riverside County Democratic Party and is an Associate Member to the RCDP, representing the Corona-Norco Democratic Club. DGR has benefited from her service in a variety of roles.
Finance: Ryan Borunda is currently a student at UCR and involved with UC Riverside’s Young Democrats. He served as DGR’s finance chair in 2017.
Membership Development: Michele Campbell has been with DGR since 2012 and served as president and treasurer. She worked on the Obama campaigns and served on the committees for Riverside’s Women’s, Tax, and Climate marches.
Policy and Research: Robert Melsh has been involved with DGR on and off for 20 years, serving as President, Vice-President, and Policy and Research Committee Chair. He has also chaired Riverside County’s Central Committee of the Democratic Party, been a StateCommittee Member, and Regional Director.
Rules: Bonnie Bell has served as Rules Chair for some years and is responsible for monitoring parliamentary procedures at Executive Board meetings and making sure DGR complies with rules governing our charter by the Riverside County Democratic Party. She was very active in the campaign for Hilary Clinton.
