DGR Gen. Meeting: Taking back Congress in 2018, the first steps

***Due to scheduling conflicts Ammar Campa-Najjar will be speaking next month along with District 42 candidate Julia Peacock***

This May DGR will be hosting two speakers who are trying to take back Congress and resist the Trump agenda.

First is Pat Eickman with The Sister District Project, which harnesses the energy of volunteers in deeply blue (or red) places and channels it to where it can make a real impact. We are a network of local teams that support strategically important, winnable races across the country.
In 2017, our focus is down-ballot on critical state races where Democratic control hangs in the balance.

The second Speaker is Lecia Elzig with the newly forming Indivisible 41. She will speak on the newly forming chapter of Indivisible in the 41st Congressional District, and ways we can assist them.

Indivisible is an organization formed in the days after the election of Donald Trump. Two former congressional staffers talked about what every progressive in America was talking about: what do we do now? They decided to create a model for success for how local activism can affect real change in Congress. Their goal is to take on Donald Trump and the members of Congress who would do his bidding.
