June Meeting: Two Future Congress People: Ammar Campa-Najjar and Julia Peacock

~~~This meeting is going to start 15 minutes early with Ammar Campa-Najjar’s presentation in order to accommodate his schedule~~~
This June DGR will be hosting two speakers who are trying to take back Congress. First, we will be hosting Ammar Campa-Najjar, who is running for Congress in California’s 50th District.
Ammar is a former White House & Administration official, small business owner, activist and writer, born and raised in San Diego. According to his website:
“Now as a Congressional candidate for California’s 50th District, my goal is to bring people back together, pave a path toward a unified future and show the nation how truly indivisible we are.  We need to fight for progress and win again, and together we will.”
The second speaker is Julia Peacock who is running for Congress as a Democrat in California’s 42nd district.
According to her website:
“I began working with some other like-minded people in my own Congressional district, the 42nd in California which covers parts of Riverside and Orange County. We had conversations about the Affordable Care Act, immigration and the wall, immigration and the Muslim ban, women’s reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, and a host of other issues that we knew were and would continue to be in jeopardy under the current administration.”
DGR Booth at the Juneteenth Celebration
This Saturday we’ll be spending the day registering voters and promoting our club.
We’d love for you to stop by to say hello and could really use a few more volunteers to staff the booth.
Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:
2:30pm – 4:30pm
4:30pm – 6:30pm
We don’t yet know the exact location of our booth but will post it as soon as we receive it. If you’re worried about finding us please message Charlene McKinley-Powell and she will send you her phone number.
When you sign up to volunteer please either answer the question when prompted or leave a comment stating which shift you’ll be there for.
See you soon!
