Tax March Riverside

Purpose: To demand Donald Trump honor his promise to the American people to release his tax returns. We have a right to know the extent of his financial interests,business dealings and ties with foreign nations and nationals, as well as Big Pharma, Wall Street, the oil and fuel industry, agribusiness, and other special interest groups.

This is a family friendly march. Please keep this in mind when creating signage.

Platform Meeting and DGR Executive Board Meeting

We’ll be meeting at 6 pm to discuss the possible DGR platform for an hour and then referring it to the E-board. please attend this pre-meeting if you have changes or platform ideas. A copy of the current platform can be found at

Afterward the DGR Executive Board will meet as usual.

Executive Board meetings of the Democrats of Greater Riverside are open to all paid members. These meetings are for planning the General Meetings of the DGR and to find ways to support local Democratic candidates and Policies. 

E-Board meetings are on the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., in the Hacienda Room of La Casa Ortega and will follow parliamentary procedure.

An E-Board Quorum: A majority of  the four (4) officers + chairs of the six (6) standing committees = 10  

A quorum, being a majority of 10, is therefore six (6), unless vacancies are counted, then a quorum would be five (5) members.  [The six standing committees are: Membership Development, Finance, Communications, Elections, Policy & Research, Rules and Audit.  NOTE: The Audit committee chair is NOT an officer of the Board member.  (Bylaws, Article VII, Section 7, subsection a.)]

April Monthly Meeting – Jacqueline Casillas with Planned Parenthood Action

This April DGR will be hosting Jacqueline Casillas with the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She’ll speak about their efforts to keep Congress from defunding Planned Parenthood and ways we too can convince Congress to do its job and help people.

We’ll also have an update on the latest marches planned for the coming weeks. And we’ll have info on our booth at the Riverside Tamale Festival on April 22nd, The Climate March, and possibly the Riverside Chilli Festival.

We’ll introduce our club platform for approval. Copies of which can be found at

Finally, we’ll also be talking about our upcoming reception for Rafael Elizalde, tentatively planned for May 4th, details to follow soon, including possible club donations to his, and Andy Melendez’s, campaigns.

Phone Tree

At our meeting Thursday, we will be disseminating a permission form for our phone tree. We will use the phone tree to notify DGR members of important community,state,and federal actions or events which need immediate response from Democrats. This could include marches,town hall meetings, static protest, emails,postcards, and phone calls to government representatives of all levels.If you would like to be part of our Quick Response Team, please complete the form, so we can add your name and number as we develop our phone relays.
